Brett’s Run 2018 Slideshow

Check out this slide show/video made with the amazing photos taken by Liz and Don Healy!  The presentation ends with two photos of Jim Ruck, a friend, neighbor, and loyal Coug, who passed away in November.  Jim last completed the run 3 years ago when he was 86 years old!  This past year, at age 89, it took everything Jim had to attend the event and it meant the world to the Jensens.

Thanks for help with Brett Jensen Memorial run fundraiser

The Herald, LETTERS,  Saturday, September 8, 2018 1:30am

The Brett Jensen Memorial Walk and Run 9 was held Aug. 25 at Legion Memorial Park in North Everett. The skies cleared and the smoke disappeared, which made for a wonderful gathering of family, friends, Cascade High School athletes and coaches, and community members. There were treats for the dogs, a clown for the kids, and Starbucks coffee and Top Pot doughnuts for the adults. Some participants ran, some walked, and some just hung out and visited.

We would like to sincerely thank all of the participants, the volunteers, the business sponsors, and the silent auction donors for their generosity and support of this event. Also, we appreciate the Everett Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Everett for helping make the process of putting on this event go smoothly.

All proceeds go into our scholarship fund which allows us to grant awards to deserving high school seniors to assist them in their pursuit of higher education at a vocational technical college, a community college or four-year university. These scholarships are given through Cascade High School and the Rotary Club of Everett. Since its inception, the Brett Jensen Scholarship Foundation has awarded nearly $170,000.

Please save the date, August 24, 2019, for next year’s event.

The Brett Jensen Memorial Walk and Run 8 is in the books. Family, friends, neighbors, community members, athletes and coaches gathered at Everett’s Legion Memorial Park last Saturday to remember Brett, encourage health and fitness, raise some funds to continue the scholarship program, and have some fun.

All four goals were accomplished. The weather was wonderful and the 3.6 mile route down Alverson and Grand was beautiful. Carpe diem! We truly did seize the day.

We want to sincerely thank the Everett Parks and Police departments, the participants, the business sponsors, the volunteers and silent auction donors. All of these groups are critical to the success of this event.

In May, because of all of the support, The Brett Jensen Memorial Scholarship Foundation was able to award $15,000 in scholarship money through the Rotary Club of Everett and Cascade High School. To see the 2017 and previous scholarship recipients, please visit our website at
